MoneySavingExpert.com

MoneySavingExpert.comBetween January 2012 and August 2014, I was the sub-editor for personal finance website MoneySavingExpert.com, working on news, “how-to” guides, and a weekly email sent to eight million subscribers.

Founded by Martin Lewis, the site campaigns for consumer rights and financial justice as well as offering advice on how to save cash and get the most out of your money.

I worked across news, the site’s guides and the weekly email, as well as raising the site’s profile on social media.

I occasionally contributed news stories, where I became an unofficial travel news expert – including revealing an aide to Boris Johnson had been stung by a ‘copycat’ site charging five times the normal rate for a US travel permit – and blog posts about “PPI vultures” in shopping centres, getting a council tax rebate and a bank account offering a free dog.
